Lewis County Records Routing

The sheriff is the starting office for a current county-custody question or for routing a request for a releasable booking record or photograph. General jail-operation, civil-process, court, and concealed-carry inquiries are routed during the published weekday administrative window. The jail has a continuous custody operation, but that does not mean an administrative records response is available at all hours.

For a written Sunshine Law request, identify the person, the approximate booking date, the record sought, and the booking number if known. Ask the office to route the request to the records custodian and to provide a fee estimate before chargeable work begins.

• For a current custody or recent-release question, begin with the official sheriff roster and 48-hour release view.
• For a wanted-list or active-warrant confirmation, contact the sheriff first; the Sheriff's Most Wanted page is selective rather than complete.
• For a court case, hearing, or final action, use Missouri Case.net and the Lewis County Circuit Clerk.
• For a state-custody or supervision record, begin with the Missouri Department of Corrections Offender Search.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the appropriate BOP or ICE locator, which are separate from county booking records.
